GORDON STRACHAN was deeply unhappy with Odsonne Edouard and Ismaila Soro sharing a laugh at the full time whistle after Eddy failed to play Soro in for an easy tap in.

In the dying minutes of the game Edouard got free and Soro came from deep to give him an option and put the game beyond doubt, however, the Frenchman decided to go it alone and the chance was quickly gone.

After the game, you could see the camera focussing on the pair as they laughed off the incident.

Strachan was not having it and believes after seeing their manager sacked and that type of opportunity squandered, Soro should have been irate at Edouard’s selfishness.

The former Celtic boss believes Soro should have torn into the striker for not giving him the opportunity to get on the scoresheet.

I think Strachan is pushing a narrative that this team is perhaps soft and won’t call each other on incidents like that. Teams who want to be better and are driven would have seen that chance squandered differently in the pundit’s eyes.

“You know talking about team spirit and being close together, I wouldn’t have been happy if I was a manager and had seen those two laughing [Soro and Edouard] at something like that.” Strachan told the Celtic Pass Audience.

“ I would be saying to them I’ve made a 50-yard run, boost me in, we win 2-0 and then we celebrate. Then the guy who has made a mistake can take it. That’s more together than saying ‘oh here, that was unlucky, that was fine, big smiles’.

“No. A manager has resigned this week. How can you smile after that, an opportunity to lay somebody in, pass and score, 2-0, rather than go yourself. That would be my concern.”
