The Scottish Government have tonight released a statement and commented on Celtic’s recent trip to Dubai.

Whilst they confirmed that the Hoops were not breaking any rules with travel expeditions for elite sports starts, they have asked that the SFA take a closer look at the trip and if this privilege is being taken advantage of, they will not hesitate to remove it.

The decision to travel to Dubai still feels like the wrong one during this global pandemic.

Today is a perfect example of how things can go wrong. Currently, the club does have this exemption, but with the click of a finger on our return, we could be forced to quarantine. That is how fast things are changing right now.

Of course, this is a great privilege to have over the next week, giving the players the chance to work at a warm-weather state of the art facility but with all that is going on in not only the UK but the world, it doesn’t feel right.
