You have to feel for Leigh Griffiths, he started pre-season as a man possessed and he looked destined for another superb season in the Hoops. With Bayo and Edouard all challenging for the one striker role, Leigh looked like he meant business.
After a promising start, injuries have hampered the striker’s progression after he missed most of last season with some well documented personal issues around his mental health. If Griffiths has shown anything in his time at Celtic it is that he is a fighter, like Scott Brown he has been written off plenty of times only to come back with a bang.
The century Bhoy is a fan favourite too and those fans will be delighted with the news that the forward has just taken part in a full training session. This time last year Celtic were struggling with strikers and pickings are slim for the Bhoys again this year with only one fit forward that is Edouard.
Neil Lennon will be pleased more than most to have a back-up striker to use in games as Bayo looks to be out for a couple of months.
