The Green Brigade’s banner outside Celtic Park calling for Neil Lennon to leave his post as Celtic manager has divided opinion.

There are three camps; those who the manager gone and agree with the action the GB has taken, those who want the manager gone but are uncomfortable with the banner, and the Lennon loyalists who don’t want the manager to give up the ghost and who wholeheartedly condemn the GB for the banner.

Whatever your stance, it’s clear the Green Brigade have now put the club in a position where they will have to come out and back their manager or NOT depending on where they sit.

Self preservation will be rife in the boardroom and the unwillingness to speak to the support after a poor start to the season speaks of a board who don’t want to put their chips on the table.

Instead, they brief some of their friend in the media to pass on information to the Celtic support, not a name being mentioned when we’re told the club is behind the manager.

It’s time to face things head on, and if Peter Lawwell thinks Neil Lennon is the man to turn things around then come out and say it, Peter. The consequences of him doing so and Lennon not delivering will, of course, be holding him back.

We need strong leadership and direction. Lennon calls out his players when they have been below par, some Celtic fans have called out Neil Lennon for the same reason; let’s see if it lights a fire.
