The Green Brigade have taken the first opportunity they had to thank Mikael Lustig for his contributions over the past eight seasons as the right back quietly left during the summer.
The final game Lustig played for the club was the Scottish Cup win to crown the club as treble treble champions. The Swede even for the assist for Edouard’s win.
With his contract up, nobody was sure where the player would be come July but it became clear in June there would be no new deal for Lustig and this was confirmed when the player signed a three-year deal with Genk in the Belgian League.
Celtic fans loved Mikael during his time at Celtic, not only was he a top player but his banter on and off the pitch cemented him as a fan favourite. So much so the Green Brigade felt it was right to make up a banner for their former star.
☘️CELTIC! Come on you bhoys in green ☘️?
