The Scottish left-back didn’t make the squad on Wednesday night, with Alexandro Bernabei starting in his place. The Argentine was frustrating at times, to say the least, but he did an adequate job filling in for Greg Taylor. Daizen Maeda started the match against Hearts and opened the scoring for Celtic. However, he had to leave the pitch after just half an hour of play, picking up a knock. Ange Postecoglou admitted that time wasn’t on the player’s side, with a match early on Saturday, but the knock would be assessed.

He said: [Football Scotland]

“It’s a knock on the injury so we’ll just have to assess it. Obviously it’s a short turnaround to Saturday so we’ll have to see how it is. But hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”

Jota filled in well for Maeda, causing a lot of problems for hearts. His pass to Aaron Mooy to set up Kyogo’s goal was out of this world, and shows the quality of the Portuguese winger.
