Greg Taylor was one of the standout performers for Celtic last season and so far is continuing his high level of performance.

With the arrival of Alexandro Bernabei from Lanús many questioned what it meant for the left-back position at Celtic.

It was a position which badly needed depth with players such as Liam Scales and Adam Montgomery playing the role at times last season with both now out on loan in the SPFL Premiership.

Much like Pep Guardiola, Ange Postecoglou expects so much from his full-backs and has them playing an integral part in the way he wants to play football with them coming inside to give the team and overload in the middle of the park.

Having now worked under the Australian for well over a year now, Taylor enjoys having such an advanced role at times in the team as he continues to develop under the system.

It takes time for full-backs to get used to such an intense level of play. There is no doubt that Bernabei will be given a chance under Postecoglou but for just now it’s the Scotland internationals jersey to lose.

He knows the Rugby Park surface very well having spent three years at the club and will look to continue the Hoops winning ways as they face Derek McInnes’ Kilmarnock side on Sunday.
