Greg Taylor has revealed Reo Hatate’s dressing room demeanour and apology in the dressing room to his teammate and captain after his sloppy back pass led to a red card for Callum McGregor.

It was after Reo had effectively won the game with a stunning strike from outside the area.

Celtic made things very difficult for themselves, the own goal and Reo’s back pass highlighting the sloppiness on the day.

Greg said Reo was nothing but apologetic after the game despite scoring the winner.

He said: “Reo was very apologetic, which he didn’t have to be because he’s the reason we won. He’s got high standards but nobody was expecting an apology.

“He has been outstanding thus far. He’s a top player and got the winner when the game was in the balance. I’m sure he’ll continue to progress into a real top player.” Taylor told Football Scotland.

Callum McGregor knew he risked the red when making the challenge but made the correct call to bundle Tierney over to make sure he wasn’t through on goal. It was the very definition of taking one for the team.

The Celtic captain made sure Reo’s goal was the game winner and I’m sure he’ll have made Reo know that these things happen.
