GREG TAYLOR has yet to kick a ball for the club or even take part in a training session with the player signing deep into deadline day during the international break.

The former Killie man had to wait until 5pm on September 2nd before he finally got the green light to go talk terms with Celtic.

After signing and doing his press conference, the player then headed back to the Scotland set up to join up with some of his new Celtic team-mates.

Scotland had a disappointing international break but Greg didn’t any action under Steve Clarke this time around. The player will be desperate to get his Celtic career underway and could be called upon as early as Saturday against Hamilton.

The player believes he has what it takes but what’s more he has the perfect Celtic mentor in his agent and former Celt Jackie McNamara.

“I have the perfect mentor in Jackie” Taylor told the Celtic View. “He has played in a lot of big games in his career and if I listen to him, it will stand me in good stead.”

“He went through the ranks at Dunfermline at a similar age to come to Celtic. He’s a legend here – he tells me that often! – but he’s been a great help to me”
