CELTIC have angered a portion of their support by running a ticket competition in conjunction with their betting partner Mr Green Casino.
The competition asks entrants to sign up to a Mr Green account and wager £10 on Celtic specific slot machines and if they do, they’ll be in with a chance of winning tickets to the potential league clincher against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park in two weeks.
Fans were quick to jump on the post when it appeared on Twitter and urged the club to re-think the competition.
With Celtic promoting the Kilmarnock game as a potential sell out if it becomes a title clincher – offering ten sets of tickets to people who join a gambling site is not going to go down too well among the support.
It seems like a massive miscalculation by the marketing department. We understand they have obligations with sponsors but encouraging people to play slots for an opportunity to win tickets is not the Celtic Way.
What a low down trick to be played on the Celtic support and the vulnerable gamblers the hardship this causes is horrendous
