In the past 24 hours Celtic have been linked with moves for two players whose names have been very popular among the Celtic support in recent times.

First up was Birger Meling from Rosenborg – a player Celtic fans know very well from playing Rosenborg so much last term. Many thought he would have been a good backup for Kieran Tierney and now with the Scotsman gone, he’s being linked with a move to Parkhead.

Soon after the Meling link, reports in Poland have made the claim Celtic still have an interest in Robert Gumny – another player who Celtic fans know well from speculation in previous transfer windows. Gumny, a right-back, looks destined to leave his club this summer and Gloswielkopolski believes the enticement of Champions League football could lure the defender to Celtic.

The same report claims the Gumny speculation has now become a ‘transfer saga’ and his appearance at the weekend for Lech Poznan could be his last.

Robert is 21 and has two years left on his current Lech Poznan deal.
