REPORTS today suggest Celtic’s move for Andrew Gutman is off after the player hasn’t been seen since playing against Arbroath for the developmental side.

Gutman had been tipped to sign on at Celtic with Chicago Fire confirming the left-back had snubbed them for a move to Glasgow. It’s all gone quiet since then although the player was in the stands for Celtic’s win against St Mirren last week.

Apparently, a deal for the player could now be off with no trace of Gutman in Glasgow.

Celtic have been on the lookout for young defenders, and back-ups to the current crop of stars with the Amerian market appealing to the club.

There has been no confirmation either way at this point but Gutman not being unveiled could mean the club are waiting to give the fans some news towards the end of the window – much like they did with Armstrong Oko-Flex in the summer, or the deal could really be off, and the club must now search for a new understudy for Kieran Tierney.

  1. As one who now lives in Arbroath ( and boycots SFA Competitions) , I was a the game where he played for the Select team.He was AWOL that day as well ! Only Karamoke and Millar caught the eye and the latter was for the wrong reasons.
