ANDREW Gutman made his MLS debut today as he starred and played the full 90mins for his new loan club Cincinnati.

The defender spent the summer with Celtic – training with the bhoys and taking note in some friendlies. It was thought he’d return to Charlotte but Celtic have cut ties with the lower league US side after Jim McGuinness was sacked two months ago.

This resulted in Andrew getting to take the step up to the major leagues and he and his new teammates managed a draw against Columbus Crew.

Cincinnati did have a two goal lead before they squandered it – coming away with a point in the end.

After the match, Gutman was glad to get his debut under his belt.

With the left-back now becoming an MLS player, Celtic will be hoping the defender can now challenge for an international place where his passage to Celtic would become easier with regards to a work permit.
