CELTIC FANS have not held back their opinion of Charlie Nicholas after the former Celt was true to form by putting the club down yet again in his Star Column.
For years, the Sky Sports pundit has blasted Celtic for just about everything and always talks the bhoys down when there’s an opportunity, or sometimes even when there isn’t.
So Celtic’s Glasgow rivals have signed Jermain Defoe in the transfer window, a good signing for a club of their young stature. This suddenly means Celtic aren’t favourites for the title anymore according to Nicholas. Without a ball being kicked and on name value alone, Celtic are going to be runners-up in a league they have dominated for the past seven seasons.
How Nicholas can come to this conclusion is quite bizarre. It’s all down to the arrogance of the EPL outlook. Of course, an English Premier League striker in the very twilight of his career will destroy everything in his wake up in Scotland. There will be nobody who will be able to live with Defoe, and he’ll single-handedly stop Celtic. I know that sounds stupid and over the top but that’s precisely what he’s getting at!
Defoe could do well up here, we don’t know, but to throw up the white flag at the sight of an almost retired striker coming to town is beyond ridiculous and these fans below agree.

Charlie is quite right to show his concern about our performance in the transfer market. In the summer we will almost certainly lose Lustig,Gambia,Benkovic, Brown, Weah,Boyatta and Burke. If we win the league we will be trying to qualify for the CL without all these guys. Chances are Lawwell might sell Tierney or Edouard to maintain his bonus. Too many Celtic people suck up to the board, we need some criticism out there to try to keep them honest. What have they done with the Dembele money?
