Haissem Hassan is officially a Celtic player after completing his move from Real Oviedo.
Hassan has signed a four-year deal, with the option of a further year, bringing an end to a move Celtic have been working on for some time.
Hassan completed his medical in London on August 11 before putting pen to paper.
The left-footed right-winger arrives with his profile considerably higher than it was a few months ago after an eye-catching World Cup with Egypt.
The Hoops announced his arrival on social media on Wednesday night.

Born in Paris to an Egyptian father, Hassan accepted his first Egypt call-up in March. Administrative issues and paperwork delays kept him out of their group-stage matches before he came off the bench in the Round of 32 victory over Australia.
His first start arrived against then-reigning world champions Argentina.
It was an eventful one.
Hassan conceded a penalty, only for Lionel Messi’s effort to be saved, before playing an instrumental role in what Egypt thought was their second. Hassan carried the ball 50 yards, beat two opposing players and passed to Mohamed Salah who assisted Mostafa Ziko. The goal was disallowed for a foul in the build-up.
The new Celtic winger did assist Ziko to put Egypt 2-0 ahead.
The Egyptians eventually lost the match, but Hassan’s ability with the ball was difficult to miss. His dribbling, close control and willingness to attack defenders offered a good indication of exactly why Celtic have pursued him.
His numbers for Real Oviedo last season require some context.
Three assists across 38 La Liga appearances is hardly a statistic which jumps off the page, but Hassan was playing for a side which finished rock bottom and offered very little going forward.
The underlying numbers tell a far more interesting story.
Hassan ranked in the top one per cent of wingers across Europe’s top seven leagues for successful dribbles during the 2025/26 campaign. He was also inside the top two per cent for progressive carries, defined as moving the ball at least ten yards forward or carrying it into the opposition penalty area.
His crossing numbers were similarly strong, ranking among the top percentile for accurate deliveries into the box.
That should interest Celtic supporters.
Hassan’s ability to retain control in tight areas, commit defenders and get deliveries into dangerous positions gives Martin O’Neill a different option on the right. With Kasper Hogh leading the line, having a winger prepared to consistently attack his man and put balls into the penalty area makes plenty of sense.
Hassan has also made a small piece of history before kicking a ball in green and white, becoming the first player to represent Egypt and play for Celtic.
More immediately, getting the deal completed means Celtic can register him for their Champions League play-off squad.
The initial deadline is tomorrow, while UEFA regulations also allow clubs to add two eligible players up to the eve of the first leg.
That gives O’Neill until August 18 to further strengthen his options before Austrian champions LASK visit Glasgow on August 19.
Hassan is through the door. Celtic now have another six days to make sure he isn’t the last one before a tie which could shape the opening months of their season.
