Harry Kewell’s Celtic exit is done, according to Australian journalist Sacha Pisani.

Celtic Coach Harry Kewell

The Celtic coach is set to take over Ange Postecoglou’s former side Yokohama F. Marinos, who have also sold Maeda and Iwata to Celtic in recent years.

Fellow countryman, John Hutchinson, currently the assistant manager at city rivals Yokohama, will be Kewell’s assistant in Japan.

The rumours have been circulating for weeks, with the news initially emerging in Japan. It seems it’s only a matter of time before the appointment is confirmed. There’s no real rush from the Japanese side, with their season finishing a couple of weeks ago and not starting up for the new campaign until the end of February.

Kewell was brought to Celtic by Ange Postecoglou, but when the manager departed for Spurs, the former winger stayed put at Celtic and joined Brendan Rodgers’ coaching team.

He’s worked closely with some players, with Palma publically celebrating some of his goals with the coach. He’ll be a loss to the team, but Rodgers will have someone else lined up if he believes Kewell needs replacing.
