Celtic coach Harry Kewell has admitted how shocked he is that former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is yet to find a new club.

The 29-year old said an emotional farewell to Celtic Park at the end of last season when the Hoops thumped Motherwell 6-0 on trophy day.

It had been announced that Rogic alongside his teammate Nir Bitton would both be departing once the season was over.

Rogic had a wonderful spell during his almost 9 years at the club as he won an incredible 16 major honours at the club and delivered some very special moments to the Celtic support.

None more so than his goal at the death of the 2017 Scottish Cup final when he sealed an Invincible Treble for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

With all that in his repertoire Rogic is still yet to find a new club which Harry Kewell is baffled about.

If Rogic wants to stake a claim for Australia’s World Cup squad it will be likely that he must find a new team before then to get much needed game time.

“You mention Tom Rogic around Celtic and they all love him,” said Harry Kewell speaking to Fox Sports.

“He was a player that a lot of his teammates respected. They enjoyed playing with him.

“I’m a little bit baffled to know what’s happening with him. I hope he sorts himself out and I hope he’s ready. because I’m sure he wants to be there (in Qatar for the World Cup).

“I’m sure he wants to be part of it, but it’s going to be down to him. He needs to be right mentally and physically if he wants to be part of this Australian squad.”

It is in Celtic’s interest to see Rogic appear at the World Cup as the Hoops would receive a fee for the midfielder being selected for Australia and it is hoped that he is able to find somewhere soon.
