Celtic’s wide options are starting to take shape, with Haissem Hassan edging closer to a move while Farès Ghedjemis now looks increasingly unlikely to end up at Parkhead.
The winger remains with the Real Oviedo squad for now, so there is still work to be done before the move can be considered complete.
CeltsAreHere understands the deal is close, but until the final details are agreed and Hassan is given permission to move on, he remains an Oviedo player, with the Spanish side set to face Le Havre tomorrow.
At the same time, Monaco are pushing ahead with their move for Ghedjemis.
L’Équipe reported on Friday that the Ligue 1 side have made the Frosinone winger a priority target and have already seen an opening offer rejected.
With Monaco now moving strongly and Celtic making progress on Hassan, a deal for Ghedjemis is beginning to look far less likely.
Celtic have also been linked with Adrian Blake as a possible option on the left wing, giving the club another route as they look to reshape the attacking areas.
There was also positive news from Lennoxtown on Friday, with Jota back in first-team training.
The Portuguese winger is still working his way back from a long-term injury and is not expected to be rushed into action, but his return to the training pitch is a major boost.
Hassan is currently the most advanced incoming winger deal, Blake remains another name on Celtic’s radar, while Jota’s return gives the squad an important option already inside the building.
Ghedjemis, meanwhile, now appears to be drifting away from Celtic as Monaco step up their pursuit.
