REO HATATE believes he should be amongst the goals more often, stating he is frustrated when he can’t find himself on the scoresheet after the match.

He’s made seventeen appearances in the league so far for the Bhoys and has had seven goal contributions – four goals and three assists.

He’s had his fair share of brilliant goals. His first goal for the club came at Tynecastle; a powerfully struck long-range effort beat Craig Gordon in the Hearts goal. His brace against The Rangers was soon to follow, with both efforts also coming from outside the box. In Celtic’s 7-0 triumph over St Johnstone, the 24-year-old midfielder was on the scoresheet that day.

When Hatate isn’t scoring, he admits he has another role to play in the team. Talking to Football Scotland, the January signing said;

“Being an attacking player, it’s very painful when I don’t get results — I can’t score goals or assist.

“But I also feel there are more things I can do, such as moving players and calming the game.

“I don’t know if that’s what I’m looking for, but my range of play has expanded. I was able to calm down when I thought, ‘Don’t hurry’.

“I feel that I’ve been able to work in the defensive part. I think I was able to discover a new part of the game.”

It’s going to be exciting watching a fully fit Reo Hatate next season. Hopefully, he’s well-rested before Celtic returns to competitive action so fans can see the best of the player.
