REPORTS from Israel this evening are suggesting that Celtic have had a bid accepted for Hatem Abd Elhamed who ha been linked with the club for several weeks.

The Hapoel Beer Sheva is said to be coming in for around €2m and would be Neil Lennon’s fourth signing of the summer according to the Sports Rabbi in Israel.

The sports news site claims the two clubs have come to terms for the centre back this evening.

Hatem, 28, is a centre back who can also play right back if needed. With Neil Lennon looking for reinforcements in both areas, perhaps he is coming in as a utility man.

If Celtic do land the player he will join his fellow Israeli Nir Bitton at Parkhead who shares the same agent with Hatem.

Celtic are through to the second qualifying round of the Champions League after seeing off Sarajevo 5-2 on aggregate and certainly need more reinforcements as the Euro games come thick and fast.

Hatem could be registered for the next round.
