YOUSSOUF MULUMBU is eagerly anticipating his Celtic debut which could come as quick as Thursday night if he gets the nod at any point to take on Rosenborg in front of the Celtic fans.

If not, then the midfielder might make his debut where he scored against Celtic last season at Rugby Park.

The bhoys will be in Ayrshire at the weekend and Sunday’s game could see Mulumbu come up against his old side.

The defensive midfielder was one of the standouts of last seasons SPFL campaign – helping Kilmarnock to an impressive top half finish.

He decided not to sign a new deal with the Rugby Park side at the end of last season and left the club.

Celtic then stepped in and offered Mulumbu a two-year deal to come play at Celtic Park.

He has already spoken of his thrill of moving to the club but insists he knew all about Celtic – not from his time at Scotland but when he was plying his trade down south.

“I learned about how great Celtic are a long time ago” the midfielder told the Celtic View.

“When I was at West Brom Marc-Antoine Fortuné was there and I also had the chance to play alongside Georgios Samaras, he is a legend.”

“They told me everything about the club – even before I came to Scotland”

You can take the bhoy out of Celtic but not Celtic out of the bhoy when it comes to Samaras.
