ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been linked with a move for Central Coast Mariners youngster Garang Kuol, RecordSport has reported.

The 17-year-old has been drafted into the Australia squad for the upcoming international break and could get some game time under Graham Arnold.

English side Newcastle have been tipped with a major interest in Kuol, and the player could be the next big Aussie export.

Ange is very aware of the youngsters qualities. Asked about Kuol and his call-up to the Socceroos squad, the Celtic boss was very complimentary of the attacking midfielder/striker.

“It is a similar scenario now with a lot of immigration coming from Africa and African nations and they are bringing their love of football to Australia. Kuol is one of those who comes from an immigrant background who is forging his way and there is some real talent coming through.

Ange’s interest in the Australian game and the wider world game in general is a massive advantage to Celtic. The Hoops gaffer’s knowledge of players across the globe has already paid dividends.

Having signed experienced Australian Aaron Mooy this summer, could Kuol be the next Aussie export to join Celtic and the SPFL. We have to be careful, these kind of deals can fall flat. Daniel Arzani was a prime example of someone from the Australian setup who had a lot of talent, but after a very unlucky long term injury, his move to Celtic didn’t work out.

Anyone Ange has his eye on will excite Celtic fans. If Newcastle are already interested in the youngster, Celtic might need to move quick to secure him.

  1. Karamoko Dembelê with an antipodean accent. And most of the young aspiring Special Reserves who never made it.
But if Anger has his attention on him, worth a punt for the Scottish lower divisions.
