CELTIC’S NEW DEFENDER Marvin Compper spoke to German publication Sports Buzzer as the German packed up to start his new life in Glasgow.

During the interview Marvin spoke about his time Leipzig, potentially staying in German football and showed off his new found knowledge of Celtic.

However, he singled out his new manager for praise and spoke about his first meeting with Brendan before he signed on the dotted line.

“He (Brendan Rodgers) is definitely incredibly open. I was invited to his home for breakfast. There was gluten-free bread and lactose-free cereal. And then he showed me an eight-page exposé about me. He knew everything about me, knew my taste for healthy food and even the age of my wife and children.”

This perhaps gives some Celtic fans an insight into how deep the manager delves into the background and mentality of his potential signings.

Brendan Rodgers and his backroom staff are meticulous in their approach, which may make it that little bit more galling when you have ex-players like Kris Commons in the paper slagging your new recruit.

  1. Kris Commons is Celtic through and through. I’m sure he’d like nothing better than to have to eat his words! Yes, I said eat, not ear! ?
