Maryan Shved is just weeks away from starting his Celtic career properly. The midfielder was signed in January but loaned back out for the rest of the season. Last month the new Celtic signing managed to get a couple of training sessions under his belt with the squad before they went their separate ways for the summer break.

The bhoys are due back at Lennoxtown on Monday, a little over three weeks after landing the treble treble – not much of a break but the Champions League qualifiers loom.

Shved isn’t likely to be among the players at Lennoxtown on that day with anybody who took place in international duty being afforded extra time to get a break.

It appears Maryan as impressed during the Ukrainian training camp with current boss and Milan legend Andriy Shevchenko singing the Celtic player’s praises.

“I’ve been watching him closely for the past two weeks in our training camp.” he told SunSport.

“It’s clear he has a lot of talent.

“There is still work to be done, but he has progressed hugely.

“He has just made a very big transfer for a massive club like Celtic and he is motivated to show them what he can do when he goes to Scotland.

“There’s no doubt he has improved a lot and he will go on to be a big player for Ukraine.”

Celtic fans are hoping for big things from the Ukranian in the coming months.
