Adam Idah grabbed the spotlight during Celtic’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Hearts on Saturday night—not just for his goal but for his cheeky response to the Tynecastle crowd. The striker, who replaced Kyogo Furuhashi in the second half, endured a barrage of abuse while warming up as a substitute but had the perfect reply when he found the back of the net.
After scoring Celtic’s third goal to effectively seal the game, Idah wheeled away in celebration and turned his attention to the Hearts fans. Cupping his ear before delivering a pointed ‘shhh’ gesture, the 22-year-old made his feelings clear, sparking an angry reaction from the stands.
Reflecting on the moment post-match, Idah admitted the celebration was a direct response to the treatment he’d received from the home support.
“They were giving me a bit when I was warming up, so I thought I’d give a bit back,” Idah explained to SunSport. “I could probably buy all my Christmas presents with the amount of coins on the pitch. But it’s a bit of banter, and I was happy to celebrate in front of both sets of fans.”
