LIAM HENDERSON may have left the club in January but we’ve been keeping tabs on the former Celtic academy players progress in Italy.
Instead of playing it safe, Liam decided against a move to Hibernian or a lower league English side to join Italian side Bari in their quest for promotion.
After a successful trial period in early January, Liam made the permanent move to the club and has started four games on the bounce.
The midfielders hard work paid off today as he became the first Scot in 30 years to score a for an Italian team. The last Scot to score in Italy was Graeme Souness.
It took only 2 minutes in Bari’s game against Ternana for Liam to get on the scoresheet and what a tidy finish it was.
The game finished 2-1 to Bari and kept them in touch with the promotion chasing pack. It’s great to see Liam get on the scoresheet and that he’s doing well.
Great youngster. Great talent.
Always thought the lad should have had more first team chances, but spoilt for choice in the midfield was his only downfall. HH.
