A few eyebrows may have been raised yesterday when the news came through about Liam Henderson’s short term move to Rosenberg. This is something that we’ve not really seen at Celtic especially this late on in our season but I think it has shown great forward thinking by Ronny Deila.

The 18-year-old has been played sparingly so far this season by Deila but has shown fantastic glimpses of his ability when given game time. While Celtic chase the treble the player was likely to see les action with Ronny favouring his tried and tested midfield to hopefully capture an historic feet. So it makes sense not only for the player to go out on loan but to go out on loan to a different country, with different philosophies and hopefully see more game time in the process.

Liam willingly going to Rosenberg shows maturity of a young player who wants to get better at his craft. Realising the opportunity he has to learn as well as impress two managers.

The Rosenberg manager spoke highly of Liam and is convinced he is getting one of Scotland’s most exciting young players.

Time will tell if the move has been worthwhile but it’s definitely a case of nothing ventured, nothing gained.

We wish Liam all the best with his time in Norway.
