Henrik Larsson is set to move back into football this summer and return to one of his old clubs — but it won’t be Celtic!

According to Voetbalzone.NL, the Swede is set to link up with Dirk Kuyt next season at Feyenoord. The report claims Kuyt will become manager while Henrik Larsson will be his assistant.

This will be a blow to many who wanted to see Henrik back at Celtic, taking the place of the outgoing Damien Duff.

The Swede has not hidden his desire to get back into the game and almost joined the English lower leagues as manager before the plug was pulled at the last minute. It could have been a blessing in disguise if the reports of a Feyenoord move are correct.

Henrik played for Feyenoord who famously sold him to Celtic for a very small transfer fee.

If Henrik rejoins his hold club, we wish him all the best.

  1. Feyenoord did not sell Henrik for a small fee.

Henrik had a clause in his contract that offers of 650k or above from any club would permit him to speak to the club and move if he wished.

Wim Jansen, who was manger at Feyenoord before joining Celtic FC was privy to this information and made the move, much to Feyenoords chagrin.
