Celtic got their 2015/2016 SPFL season off today with a win at paradise against Ross County. For the fourth season in a row Celtic unfurled their champions flag in front of a packed Celtic Park.

Kieran Tierney was promoted from the development squad to slot in for the suspended Izzy at left back. Leigh Griffiths started up front for the Celts and it was only a matter of minutes before he was putting the ball into the back of the net after he got taking down in the box to be awarded a penalty. Worryingly enough Griffiths had to leave the pitch on 18 minutes after picking up a knock and he was replaced by Stefan Šćepović.

Ross County never attacked in the first 20 minutes but when they did Craig Gordon was blessed not to see a red card, he rushed out of the box and took out Jackson Irvine but luckily the ref only flashed a yellow card.

Both GMS and VVD came close just on the half hour mark but Fox saved GMS strike and the VVD shot went wide after some nice play.

On the 34th minute last years player of the season Stefan Johansen slotted home inside the box to give Celtic a comfortable cushion going into the half time break.

On the hour mark Johansen and Tierney left the pitch to be replaced by Commons and Janko. Celtic went through the motions in the second half without ever moving up a gear and turning the screw into an almost certain 3 points. This encouraged Ross County into the game more and just after the hour mark they created a chance that required a reflex save from Craig Gordon.

Kris Commons went into trademark mode with 20 minutes left as he made space for himself and unleashed a shot that got flicked over the bar by Scot Fox.

Some slick play 2 minutes later forced another save from Fox as Scott Brown started some one touch stuff around the box before he set up Armstrong who tried a cheeky dink into the Ross County top corner.

Stefan Šćepović had a quiet game but he nearly put the Celtic 3 up just before the final whistle only to have is shot saved by the inform Scott Fox.

A special mention should probably go to Scott Fox in the Ross County goal who saved his team from an embarrassing score line but Celts Are Here Man of the Match Goes To Scott Brown
