BRENDAN RODGERS has reserved special praise for his striker Moussa Dembele ahead of Celtic’s tie in Armenia early next week.

The Irishman believes the striker not only has the attitude to succeed but he has all the talent to back it up.

After his prolific first season, like many others in the Celtic squad, Moussa struggled at times last season. With niggling injuries hampering his efforts to put a run of games together it became increasingly frustrating for the talisman.

Instead of taking it easy during his month off, the Frenchman looks like he’s been hitting the gym and looks fitter than ever as he looks to help the bhoys into the Champions League.

Speaking about his player, Rodgers praised his personality – “Moussa has a belief that he is a player, and that is important because you need to have that personality.

“But it is handy when you back it up. That’s what I look for. Moussa backs it up and shows it on the field.

“I said he had lost weight when he came back, and he looked really fit and strong against Sparta Prague.”

With comments like that, you wouldn’t bet against Moussa starting on Tuesday against Alashkert.

However, there could be a slight twist in the tale after Brendan Rodgers tried out both Dembele and Edouard up front against Sparta Prague at the weekend.
