IT was very late into deadline day when Celtic and Dortmund announces defender Jeremy Toljan has signed for the Scottish Champions until the end of the season.

All the talks between the two clubs took place with the right back being in Germany. The player trained with his Dortmund teammates as usual in the morning before negotiating his move to Glasgow.

The player is expected to slot straight into training in Lennoxtown over the weekend and will hopefully be up to speed so he can hit the ground running in February.

Celtic take on St Johnstone on Sunday and if we have learned anything from Brendan Rodgers, he’s very reluctant to throw players into a team if they lack games. A substitute appearance against Hibs next week might be more realistic but you never know.

Celtic wrapped up several deals on deadline day but three of the signings the club made have already been sent out on loan to continue development elsewhere.
