THE SOCCEROOS have let Celtic fans know their bhoy is on his way back after finishing up with his country until later this year.
It was a mixed bag for Tom during the qualifiers, their draw against Oman means Australia are perilously close to missing out on the World Cup.
The midfielder’s last game for Celtic came in January against Alloa in the Scottish Cup. Since then, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate have been doing the business for the bhoys. The Hoops are on a winning streak and have owned victories over Hearts [at Tynecaste] and The Rangers in Tom;s absence.
The Socceroos have let fans know the Hoops hero is on his way.

Given the travel time and Celtic having Reo and Matt in the squad, Tom won’t be rushed back into the starting XI. If he’s returning so close to the Motherwell game, there’s every chance he makes the matchday squad on Sunday, but we doubt he will start.
When Rogic is ready to go again, Ange faces the dilemma of who to start in the midfielder. It’s a good problem to have and it’ll be a welcome problem given the manager has had key players missing for the majority of the season.
Hopefully Australia will miss out on qualification.
