Neil Lennon has been blessed with some of the players he had waiting for him for his second stint as Celtic manager. His first time round as Celtic manager he had a massive rebuild to do on a squad that had their confidence battered.

This time around he inherited a bunch of winners and within the bunch are some real gems. Just a couple of months into the new season and Ryan Christie is the real standout of that bunch. Ryan hasn’t put a foot wrong and his stats are already glowing.

None of this has gone unnoticed with the boss. Speaking on the official Celtic website Lennon took time to heap the praise on his midfield master.

“He’s been superb for me in all the games so far and he’s become a vital player for us. His style and creativity, his energy and fitness levels are fantastic and it’s infectious for the rest of the players. He’s turning into a very important player.”

Christie popped up with another goal on Thursday night to give the Bhoys a 1-1 draw away against Rennes in the teams Europa League opener. Christie has been in scintillating form and scored his eighth goal of the season.
