Hibernian are reportedly ‘FUMING’ with the SFA and Celtic after their place Darnel Johnson was cited and offered a two-match ban for almost snapping Emilio Izaguirre’s ankle.

The Edinburgh side were fortunate to finish the game with ten men after Johnson made the horror tackle on the Celtic left-back.

Believe it or not, they do have cause to be upset here. With the common rational if the referee sees the incident and deals with it at the time (Thompson gave Johnson a yellow), then there could be no further repercussions. The SFA has even used that line this year to explain their way out of not enforcing stronger bans on others.

However, even though Craig Thompson dealt with the situation (wrongly), the SFA has decided the tackle deserves more punishment.

The thing we can’t wrap our heads around is the fact Hibs believe Jozo’s challenge on Oli Shaw should have seen the Croatian get a ban. Absolutely ludicrous.

Hibs have rejected the offer of a two-match ban on Johnson and are taking the matter to a appeal.

  1. Hibs are pathetic. Petrie is pathetic, petty and should be ashamed of all that he has done.
He appears to be a self serving creature with malice in his blood.
The tackle on Izzy was deliberate and horrendous from a player who has previous.
The Simunovic tackle, captured on video, was fair and strong for all to see clearly.
No wonder Scotland is struggling to be free with the number of bigoted, incompetent and non-rational people in the public eye.
In Brendan and the management we have class and in our players we have class. The Hibs board and management need to look at themselves before they get any worse.
