An article in Edinburgh live has reported Hibs are aware of potential Celtic interest in their manager Jack Ross should Neil Lennon leave his post at any point over the next six months.

There have been protests outside the ground with fans demanding a change in management after a disastrous run of form which thankfully ended with a 3-2 win against a tough Lille side.

Celtic currently have a former Hibs manager in Neil Lennon and rumours are abound Ross would make any shortlist to replace the Irishman.

Hibs Sporting director, Graeme Mathie had this to day regarding not just his manager but players who are also in demand.

“Unfortunately, you just never know. But I’m not naive. We understand that Jack is a highly regarded head coach and manager, as he should be, and just as we are aware that our talented players might be wanted by others in January or at the end of the season, we also have to be aware of all of these other things and prepare appropriately.

“It is something I hope does not come across my desk any time soon. I think Jack is in the right place.”

Some people might believe the fact Celtic might be looking around at options as disrespectful but it would be negligible if the club didn’t.

Ross got St Mirren promoted to the premier league before taking on the job at Sunderland. If you want to see him in action, the manager is in the second season of ‘Sunderland til I die’.

If the wheels come off in the next few months we have to be ready for change. Whether that be Jack Ross or someone else.

For now, Neil Lennon has managed a great win against Lille and fans are hopeful he’s ready to play his fringe stars going forward.
