Hibernian boss Jack Ross has responded to links that Kevin Nisbet could be on his way to Celtic, with Leigh Griffiths going the other way by saying they are ‘nonsense’.
Yesterday, reports suggested that Celtic could be eyeing up a move for the Scotland internationalist and using Griffiths as a leeway in the day.
However, as quoted by the Scotsman after being left out of the Hibs squad that will take on Dundee this afternoon, Ross shut down any suggestion that the 24-year old will be making his way to Parkhead at this stage.
“I was surprised when I saw the story,” said Ross. “Unless people at the club aren’t telling me things, which I don’t imagine to be the case, then it’s nonsense, really.
“It just shows something can be created, and people run with it. There’s absolutely no truth in that whatsoever.”
It would be a good bit of business for both clubs.
Why would it be a good bit business for Hibs. Get rid of a young prolific striker for a Celtic dud with more baggage than Glasgow Airport. If Celtic want him stop scrimping and pay what Nisbet is worth. Remember the John McGinn saga came back and bit you on the arse big time because you thought you would play hardball. The days of Hibs rolling over and get there belly tickled are in the past.
