SHAUN MALONEY is in advanced talks to become the new Hibernian manager in what would be a stunning move by the Easter road club.

Some people might only know Shaun from his time at Celtic and as a player but since hanging up his boots, the former Scottish international has been training and coaching at one of the highest levels in the game alongside Roberto Martinez at Belgium.

The former academy player and coach looks like he’s finally returning to Scottish football and to take on a very challenging role.

RecordSport has revealed talks are well down the line for Shaun to become Jack Ross’ replacement and he could even be in the dugout against Celtic in the cup final on Sunday.

Hibernian fans might want to do their homework if they have any worries about the appointment.

Shaun is held in very high regard at Celtic Park by the club and its supporters. There were many calls for Shaun to come in and assist Ange Postecoglou earlier this season. His first managerial role looks to be in the offing.

Let’s hope he doesn’t have a successful start at Hibernian if he does take over and is in the dug out for Sunday.
