It might shock you to know Celtic haven’t won a league game at Easter Road since 2014.

You do have to take into account the time spent down in the Championship for the Edinburgh club, but it’s still an unwanted record for Celtic.

The last time we won at Easter Road was more recently in 2019 when we knocked Hibernian out of the cup.

We need to get back to winning ways against the home side on Wednesday evening but it won’t be easy.

Paul McGinn believes there’s something to be said for the Hibs fans spooking the Celtic players.

“It’s massive. It will be part of the reason why Celtic have such a bad record because the fans come in numbers, and they make a lot of noise.” McGinn told RecordSport.

“They all know that and the fact it’s a night game gives them time to go to the pub and have a few, so it should be nice and noisy!”

Celtic have played and won in many hostile places over that time so I’m not sure that comes into it.

There is certainly something to be said for players upping their game when Celtic come to town. We see it regularly with clubs pulling off top results against the Hoops but then suffering a run of defeats.

The new look Celtic side has to deal with being a team other players are motivated extra to beat.
