The Celtic team might be going out to win the three points along tonight against Sparta Prague but there’s a bigger incentive for the club’s coffers.

After miraculously being able to turn a 100k profit during the pandemic, Celtic’s finances continue to suffer with a high wage bill and still no match day revenue to rely on to get things going.

The Europa League is where Celtic should be looking to progress but this season we’ve looked very poor. The first half against Lille being the highlight for the club.

With tonight in mind, it’s worth noting and it won’t be lost on Peter Lawwell that a win would hand us a €570k win bonus from UEFA.

A payout not to be sniffed at in this financial climate. There’s no money for a loss and a payment of €190k for a draw.

We need the win for ourselves, and to give the team a much needed confidence boost but to land a decent sized bonus would be a great boost too.
