BRENDAN RODGERS has confirmed that Nir Bitton will be out for the rest of the season after the player was advised to get surgery for a knee problem.
This adds to Celtic’s injury woes which seemed to be getting better in the last week or so.
The Celtic manager was disappointed to deliver the news.
“It’s a slight issue with his knee he has put himself through.
“We had a look at it last week in London and were told he needs the operation on it.
“That is probably him for the rest of the season.”
Nir has played all his games at centre back this season, and for the most part has done a good job in a position foreign to him.
Nir joins Jonny Hayes on the sidelines as players who won’t see any more action this term.
