Holmbert Fridjonsson has signed for Brondby on a season long loan after failing to impress new boss Ronny Deila.

The striker who was brought in by Neil Lennon has failed to make a first team appearance for the club.

He will now play in Denmark this season with the Danish club having the option to buy the 21 year old at the end of the season.

Brondby Chairman spoke about the player.

“Holmbert Fridjonsson is a talented striker and we have good knowledge of him since he played in Iceland.” he said.

However he does not expect the player to go straight into the starting XI.

Fridjonsson could be joined at Brondby by Teemu Pukki in the coming hours but as time runs out on this deadline day it could be hard to get that deal done.
