Celtic loanee Liam Scales’ week got even worse this afternoon as his Dons side was on the end of a 6-0 thumping at Easter Road with the Irishman getting sent off.
Only five days previous he was part of the Aberdeen side which was dumped out of the Scottish Cup by West of Scotland League Premier Division side Darvel.
It had gone down as one of the biggest cup upsets in the history of the old competition and was undoubtedly Aberdeen’s worst.
Following the match, the board released a statement that said that Jim Goodwin would remain on as manager until at least the weekend which indicated that it wouldn’t be long before he lost his job.
It was all or nothing for Aberdeen today and they were embarrassed once again as they were absolutely battered.
Scales received a second yellow card before the Hibees would go on to score another two goals to complete the rout.
He has been a regular starter under Goodwin and has played more centrally than he did during his first season at Celtic.
It’s very unlikely that he will return to Parkhead and break into the first team and he won’t know what the future holds until a likely new manager arrives in the Granite City.
He can’t defend along with all defenders at Aberdeen. Having watched him a few times this season it is blatantly obvious that he is not of a Celtic standard or even spl standard.
