As the clocks struck midnight to signal the beginning of 2025, the January transfer window duly opened.

Last year, the mid-season market offered Celtic the opportunity to bring in Nicolas Kuhn for £3.5m and striker Adam Idah on an initial six-month loan from Norwich City.

Idah’s acquisition proved pivotal in the Hoops’ double success, and Kuhn has shown his true potential this season.

Brendan Rodgers has a few areas of concern to consider this January, one of which is the left-wing spot in his team.

The manager has been consistent in his stance of adding some attacking firepower to the Celtic ranks this month, so signing another attacker alongside a wide man might not be out of the question, too.

Kieran Tierney links aren’t going away anytime soon, either. Fabrizio Romano reported this morning that discussions are currently underway for a sensational Celtic return for the left-back, who is keen to rejoin his boyhood heroes.

From today, Rodgers has over four weeks to strengthen his Celtic squad as the season enters its second half.

The manager will be confident of backing from the club’s hierarchy as he seeks to maintain domestic dominance and continually advance in Europe.
