ANGE POSTECOGLOU is one of the biggest names in Glasgow, managing Celtic leads to celebrity status.

Almost every in the city is aware of what the gaffer has achieved in his first year at Celtic. Winning the league cup in his first six months in charge, he led his side to the League, despite occupying mid-table for long periods in the first half of the season.

Heading into the winter break, the Hoops were still behind, but smart recruitment from the manager added quality to the side and Celtic were able to capture the top spot.

Speaking live on Sky Sports, in a special Celtic documentary, Ange Postecoglou said;

“Obviously my profile is very high. I don’t want my to young boys, and us as a family, to not experience life here.

“I want them to do things as normal but normal becomes abnormal when you’re halfway through a sandwich and people want to take a selfie.”

“You’re driving down the freeway and people are stopping traffic and getting out of cars to take a selfie with you.

“But you’ve got to be kind. Every time that happens to me, I always go back to six or seven-year-old me. I think if that was me, and it was someone I admire, it would make my day if that person said hello or gave me a smile.

“Ultimately what we want to do is live the life here that any family can.”

Postecoglou has changed the mood in the city. Last year, fans were so against the manager and were desperate for him to be sacked. Then, the Aussie boss turned Celtic’s fortunes around, with the whole of the support united behind him. It’s hard to find a Celtic fan that doesn’t admire Ange Postecoglou.

  1. I disagree with the last paragraph about Celtic supporters wanting Ange sacked, I don’t know one of us who wanted him sacked. As soon as he got the job every single one of us wanted him to do well and he’s more than exceeded our expectations, the board got lucky with his appointment and no one will convince me otherwise but he’s been a breath of fresh air for our great club. He’s galvanised the club and everyone’s pulling in the same direction and he’s taken the hostility felt against an ageing board away for now. We need to start improving in European football and he might just leave Celtic as a bigger legend than he is already.
