Celtic brought Ange Postecoglou to the club from Yokohama F. Marinos last summer. The Australian’s assistant stepped up to the top job, with Kevin Muscat named the new manager of the club.

After Ange left, the side finished second in the J-League last season, but after a busy transfer window, the side is now top of the table, with seventeen games played.

Speaking to Keep Up, Kevin Muscat revealed he has maintained a close relationship with the Celtic manager, who’s kept a close eye on the Japanese side since he left them over a year ago.

The former Ibrox man said this about the pair’s relationship;

“I consider Ange a friend and a mentor. A mentor is obviously someone you can unconditionally trust for council.

“We speak about things. Sometimes there will be messages when I wake up or in the middle of the night. He is always watching the games, always watching our games and likewise.”

Ange is a man of class.

Often, once a manager moves on, they don’t pay too much attention to their former club, never mind keep in regular contact with the new manager.

It just shows that Ange is a classy man, he’s demonstrated that so much this season.
