Chris Sutton has flipped the script on the media narrative this week pushed by Ibrox pundits.

Celtic’s disappointing loss at Hampden has meant a full week of questioning their title credentials despite how close the game was even though the bhoys were poor.

Celtic’s bottle is being questioned and the wishful thinking of a collapse has come to the fore.

Sutton isn’t having any of it.

There’s plenty still to be done and Celtic aren’t guaranteed this title. Chris believes if Celtic do go onto win the title – The Rangers will have resided over one of the biggest collapses on Scottish football history considering their domination during the lockdown, training ground-esque season.

The former Celtic striker cites the 25 point gap and the disarray the Hoops were in back in the summer. It was supposed to be a transitional season and now we’re disappointed we can’t grab a treble.

Writing in his RecordSport column, Chris said:

It might be a bit of mind games or Rangers fans trying to pile on the pressure, but I’ve seen some people suggest if Celtic don’t get over the line in the league it would be one of the biggest collapses ever.

I don’t buy it. There’s a lot of football still to be played and, in fact, I’d flip it the other way. If Ange Postecoglou can complete the job in the remaining five games and deliver the title in what everyone expected to be a transitional season, I’d say the biggest collapse ever will have come from Ibrox.

To turn a 25 point deficit last season in to a title win this year would be a monumental achievement for Celtic – and a huge fall from grace from Rangers when they were in a position to kick on from their success.

Celtic were so bad last year it looked like it might take four or five transfer windows to sort out the mess, yet look where they are now.

We can argue about collapses at the end of the season though. There is a heck of a lot of work to be done.

Celtic must go out to Dingwall this weekend and do the business. If they can they will just need two more wins to secure the title. Ange told us to buckle in for the ride.

Fingers crossed the bhoys get this one over the line.
