Following Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Mirren on Wednesday night, Ange continued to reassure the Celtic faithful that he isn’t too focused on the other side of the city.

Speaking to the BBC following the game, the question was posed to Ange what he thought of Rangers’ 1-0 away win in Perth against St Johnstone, to which he responded, “I don’t care.”

“What’s important is we are winning games then we are in good shape. I wasn’t looking at the ladder when we were six points behind and I’m not looking at it now”

Ange has always remained firm that his full focus was on his own team throughout the season, and the Bhoys saw off St Mirren with a decent performance with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor getting in amongst the goals.

Speaking on the team’s performance, Ange said “We dominated the ball and it’s hard when the opposition sits so deep. I thought we were solid. We stayed composed and did what we had to do to wear down the opposition.”

“It’s how most teams set up against us and the important thing for us was to not get side-tracked by any anxiety. We’ve been unbelievable at home this year, the way we’ve controlled the games.”

Celtic will hope to be able to break down another team that sits deep when they take on David Martindale’s in-form Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena, a stadium in which they haven’t won since Livi’s return to the top-flight in 2018.

There are online nine games left in the title race. It’s getting very tense at the top and you could feel the anxiety from the stands on Wednesday night. It’s not going to be easy, and there will be a few more bumps along the way – let’s just hope none of the bumps are fatal.

Celtic have turned a rebuilding season into a title race and fans are along for the ride.
