FORMER Celtic defender Mark Wilson admits he was ‘surprised’ to hear Ibrox players cheering at the thought of facing Celtic in the semi final of the Scottish Cup.

“I am a wee bit surprised that they were cheering the draw given their recent history against Celtic.” the player turned pundit admitted.

“When you are just managing to scrape draws and you are viewing those results as big successes, then you would have thought they would have wanted to keep them for the Final and maybe cause an upset then.”

Brendan Rodgers men have won 6 out of the 8 Glasgow Derby ties they’ve played under the Irishman, drawing 2. In that time Celtic have scored 17 goals to the Govan clubs 4.

Mark Wilson played against the old Rangers on several occasions, scoring the winner and knocking Sasa Papac out at the same time in the Scottish Cup once upon a time.

  1. So Ran’k’ers Part 2 Laughing At Getting The Champions In The Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Nearly Pissed Myself Laughing, I Was Rolling About The Floor Slapping My Thighs With Laughter, They Are Shite, They Are Delusional Totally Disrespectful And When We Go To Shitebrox, The Champions Shall Show Them No Respect Whatsoever, {Again} We Shall Have The Last Laugh (Bring On The Clowns) HH.

  2. They are confident because of the last 10 games. If you look at both clubs since the beginning of the year then you understand why we might be there for the taking. Celtic have been poor for most of the past few months. Will we be able to raise our game? We will need to. play the way we have in most games and we might get turned over. Of course they are not very good but we have not been playing well. Sunday is an opportunity to put them in their place, end their nonsense and even end their ambition for next season. Failure to do so puts pressure on the manager and the team. A pressure neither has experienced in years. We have no idea how they will react. Sunday may bring out the best in both team and manager, getting beat could result in a collapse and the unthinkable happening. Look at Europe, we have wilted under pressure every single time. And if you look at his history Brendan does not have a great record in high pressure situations. Celtic will need to show up on Sunday.
