HENRIK LARSSON praised his on loan Celt after he handed Kundai Benyu his first ever start for Helsingborgs this weekend with the midfielder also netting his first goal.

Kundai signed on a year long loan with the Swedish side back in January before Henrik came in for a second stint as Helsingborgs manager. The Celtic legend admits there has been question marks over Kundai’s fitness but he showed why he was a Celtic player in his first start for the club.

“He was very, very good and showed why he is a Celtic player.” Larsson told SunSport.

“He’s had some problems with fitness, but his movement and finish was superb.

“He’s confident on the ball and helps us out both in attack and defence so we are delighted that we’ve got him.

“I expect him to kick on from his first start and first goal.”

Kundai has made no real impression at Celtic and was quickly cast aside by Brendan Rodgers shortly after signing. The midfielder spent some time on loan to Oldham with Kundai struggling to get a game.

His Helsingborgs career looked ominous with no starts but Henrik Larsson might just be helping his development along.

If he can put a run together then who knows what the midfielder could achieve. Could he revive his Celtic career or can he proves he’s worth a permanent move to Sweden?

We’ll be keeping an eye on the player.
