REO HATATE is showing his ambitious side this week by telling Japanese journalists he wants to go one better than former Japanese bhoy Shunsuke Nakamura in the Champions League.

The Hoops midfielder came in back in January and played a pivotal part in Celtic’s title triumph that’s now gave them automatic access to the Champions League.

Now the bhoys know they’ll be in the group stage, it’s not enough for Reo to just take part in Europe’s elite club competition, he wants to make waves.

Cited by J.Football Now, Reo made it clear he wants to give everything and I’m doing so attempt to beat Shunsuke’s last 16 appearance:

“We qualified for the CL and I want to do everything I can to be able to play my own game and to help the team win.”

“When Shunsuke Nakamura was at Celtic I believe he reached the R16, so I feel very strongly about wanting to go further than that.”

Celtic haven’t faired to well I’m the Champions League when they’ve been in it. The bhoys will have to play out their skins to get second place in any group the completion throws up.

The ambition is there though and it’s good to see Celtic players shooting for the stars. We have to make a fist of it and do our best to upset some of Europe’s top clubs.

The draw for the group stage is still a little bit away at the moment. Celtic will find out their fate on August 25. Bring it on.
